(Luffa acutangula) Heirloom from Southern Asian.  Also known as 'Chinese Okra' or 'Ridge Gourd'.  Large, green, slightly wrinkled, green fruit with white flesh.  Fruit is generally harvested unripe for use as a vegetable (fruit becomes bitter upon maturity) or left to mature and used as a natural cleaning sponge. The fruit slightly resembles a cucumber or zucchini with ridges.  The angled luffa looks similar to the regular variety, except it is darker in color and has sharp ridges running lengthwise down the fruit.  Vining bush requires trellising.  100 days (vegetable); 150 days (maturity).  12 seeds
