(Phaseolus vulgaris)  Heirloom originating from the Cherokee as they marched from the Smoky Mountains to Oklahoma by the Federal Government in 1839 over the infamous 'Trail of Tears' winter death march which left many dead & suffering.  Rare variety.  Also known as 'Cherokee Black'.  Highly attractive, long, slender, pale green pods with a deep purple line from top to bottom.  While it may be eaten as a fresh bean, it is best left to mature for dried use.  High yields.  Best grown on a trellis.  Will produce right up until the first frost.  85 days.  60 seeds
