GRANNY SMITH (Scion)

(NOT TO SA)  (Malus domestica)  Australian heirloom originating from a chance seed thrown away by Mrs. Thomas Smith from Ryde in NSW.  Dates back to 1860's.  Seeds were thought to have been from a French Crab apple.  Currently one of Australia's most favourite apples.  Ideal for eating fresh or cooking.  Unusual in that the cut fruit does not brown as quickly as other varieties.

SCION
You will receive 1 scion wood only (ie. a cutting from the parent tree).  It will come packaged in a moisture sealed & labelled bag. While ideally it should be grafted onto your existing tree, or planted as soon as you receive it in the mail, the scion may be placed in the fridge for storage (1-4 months)
Our scions are harvested from the trees in June each year & then posted to customers July / August.
Orders for scions are able to be placed at any time throughout the year.
All scion varieties are sold subject to availability.

ORCHARD LABEL
Long lasting Orchard Labels with fruit type & variety name - similar to those seen in Botanical Gardens.
May be either tied to a side branch with wire or chain, attached to a timber stake beside the tree with a screw or attached directly onto the tree using a galvanised long screw & spring to allow space for growth.
Width: 75mm
Height: 22mm
Material: 1.6mm UV Stable High Impact & Scratch Resistant Acrylic Resin
